Highlights of the Exhibition

Renowned for his commitment to expressing "movement" in contemporary art, Ryohei Yamashita presents his solo exhibition, 7 MOTIONS, at TAGSTÅ GALLERY. This exhibition serves as a culmination of his extensive exploration, offering a dynamic and immersive experience that revisits the origins of artistic expression.

Yamashita consistently seeks to capture the pinnacle of beauty within the moments of human movement. Through bold compositions and sweeping brushstrokes that utilize his entire physical presence, he conveys a sense of dynamic energy on canvas. His art extends beyond individual gestures, reimagining athletes' imagination as landscapes and incorporating the sentiments of the four seasons into his themes, continuously evolving the notion of motion aesthetics.

In 2020, his work was featured as stained glass art at Tokyo Metro’s Gaienmae Station, showcasing new possibilities for public art. This achievement has garnered widespread recognition, leaving a lasting impression on audiences.

This exhibition, marking Yamashita's return to Fukuoka after two years, features a diverse range of works in oil and acrylic. Highlights include special new original paintings from his collaboration with manga artist Yasuhisa Hara, depicting the world of Kingdom. Exclusive merchandise, such as canvas prints, will also be available for purchase.
